Honda Fit are so sleeped on, yeah they don't look that good but are solid cars! With some nice looking wheels and meaty tires they can look good and depending on the trim they have decent HP, perfect for those roads.

Like how you hypothesized that it could be just an axle based on your first steps of diag. Appreciate the format of a couple of tripod cameras mixed with handheld and narrating in the moment. Of all the Hoonigan/"Influencers" that have recently gone independent you are by far the most mechanical and technically advanced. Feel like you're gonna help people with their cars and be able to monetize the process.
